Albums

Take It From Me was recorded in many phases from 2024 to 2026 at my house in Nashville and at my folks' place in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. Thanks to all of my amazing friends who contributed: Cole, Ty, Tom, Anna-Maria, and Jessey all played a part in this. Some notable moments include Tom and I playing every instrument we could find during the breakdown on Leo, Cole's bass on Take It From Me, Jessey's drums on Over My Head, Anna-Maria's beautiful pipes on Leo and Cradled, and Ty's arpeggio guitar in Whatever Will Be Will Be.

Where it all started. Wicked John and the Devil, the album, was cooked up by my friends in 2017 after a few Daily Two writing sessions yielded some good demos. We recorded this at my house in a room that could barely hold Jessey's drum kit. That being said, we've got Jessey Clark on drums, Ty Maraist on electric guitar, Zacchaeus Dance on the bass, and Tom Eisenbraun helped us record and mix it. Artwork courtesy of Dom Granda. This one's for the real Wicked-heads (?) out there.

Before there was Wicked John and the Devil, there was just me making songs. This was a cassette tape I made when I first moved out to Nashville. I had a tape deck and some old tapes my mom gave me of my grandaddy Herrell interviewing this old-timed Burl Tipton back in the 60s. It stars with a clip of him talking to his mother, my great-grandmother. It's a sentimental piece, this one, with a few of my tunes and a few standards. I made about 20 tapes at the time - each wrapped in brown paper and twine. Very twee, it was 2015.
